I get along with Mr. C. He’s nice, polite, friendly, funny and young at heart. However, this age gap has created three small problems:

1. I love technology… Mr.C has only just jumped on Facebook and doesn’t really have a clue about the weird and wonderful things on web 2.0. He’s still living in the web 1.5 world.

2. I’m just cruising in my job with an assistant who helps me out. He’s a 12-hour workholic holding a senior role and managing a team of ten people from around the world. When I need to vent about my manager and how she can’t hold the team together, it almost feels like he’s taking notes and I feel like I’m somehow indirectly offending him.

3. I’m not looking for anything serious and I can’t help but to think he wants to get married, settle down and have kids. I’ve been diverting conversations when he brings up family, kids or about my long term goals. I give out this cheesy fake laugh before steering the conversation right back into something with no substance.

I haven’t slept with him… yet… and was wondering if I should just let this one go before it becomes something uncomfortably difficult to end.

Some guys are born jerks. His age might get older, but his brain never quite evolves beyond a sixteen year old sex-crazed teenager. You’ve probably dated one when you were fifteen and then dated one again when you were twenty-six.

However, there seems to be an ever growing number of guys who become jerks after a breakup. Usually when his heart was broken into a million pieces and he can’t find the adhesive tape. What was once a proper, well-mannered guy becomes a complete a-hole jerk for a duration of anywhere between one to six months.

I’m not sure what compels the jerk to think that sex, booze and more sex would be a great substitute for love. Furthermore, what compels him to splash his sexual adventures on Facebook, Twitter and Blogspot. What ever happened to the private little black book?

What’s more interesting is that the jerk is oblivious to his immature actions and thinks it’s legendary to have his Facebook status as: “I’m about the bed a blonde. Whooha!” - How romantic.
